The traditional pre-amble to the world-famous Old Bar Beach Festival is nearly upon us.

Nestled on the beautiful Mid North Coast of NSW, Old Bar comes alive the first weekend of September. Thousands of inquisitive shoppers hit town as we attempt to break the record for the ‘Most Garage Sales on the One Day in One Town’. Come and join the fun! Gather all your trash and treasures to take part on the day or come and shop to your heart’s content. Bargains galore walk out the door and pocket money aplenty is made from unwanted items gathering dust around the household.

“I am in Garage Sale Utopia” said one completely satisfied shopper on her way to her 78th garage sale for the day. It’s easy to get around on the day, all sales are numbered at the end of the street and each house is identified by 2 balloons attached to their wheelie bin out front. The centre of town is a hive of activity with live music at cafes and a giant book record, DVD and CD stall, with funds raised going to the famous Old Bar Beach Festival. The sales start early and finish when everything is sold or when all the trailers are full and left town. Do yourself a favour and enjoy the experience, and as the lady said “GARAGE SALES R US is Garage Sale Utopia”

A Huge Book and Record Sale will be held at Old Bar Rd at the same time as the garage sale and for the month of September and don’t forget the Car Boot Sale, held at the same time. This is a community event proudly supporting the Old Bar Beach Festival.
